Houston Texas Pollen and Mold Counts (October 9, 2024, to October 10, 2024)

Pollen:

  • Total Tree Pollen: Dropped to 0 (from 8, -100%).
  • Total Grass Pollen: Increased to 8 (from 6, +33%).
  • Total Weed Pollen: Dropped sharply to 323 (from 623, -48%), largely due to a significant decline in Ambrosia (Ragweed).

Mold:

  • Total Mold: Dropped to 11,856 (from 14,862, -20%), with the most notable decreases in Ascomycetes, Cladosporium, and Cercospora.

Detailed Changes:

Tree Pollen:

  • Ulmus (Elm): Dropped by 6 (from 6 to 0).
  • Other Tree: Dropped by 2 (from 2 to 0).

Grass Pollen:

  • Increased by 2 (from 6 to 8).

Weed Pollen:

  • Ambrosia (Ragweed): Dropped sharply by 306 (from 611 to 305, -50%).
  • Artemisia (Sage): Increased by 2 (from 4 to 6).
  • Cyperaceae (Sedge): Dropped to 0 (from 4).
  • Other Weed: Increased by 8 (from 0 to 8).

Mold:

  • Algae: Dropped by 24 (from 56 to 32).

  • Cladosporium: Dropped by 1,276 (from 7,217 to 5,941, -18%).
  • Curvularia: Dropped by 26 (from 194 to 168, -13%).
  • Drechslera/Helminthosporium: Increased slightly by 4 (from 46 to 50).
  • Epicoccum: Dropped by 14 (from 44 to 30, -32%).
  • Nigrospora: Dropped by 8 (from 20 to 12, -40%).
  • Oidium/Erysiphe (Powdery Mildew): Remained the same at 8.
  • Penicillium/Aspergillus: Dropped by 109 (from 473 to 364, -23%).
  • Periconia: Dropped by 48 (from 230 to 182, -21%).
  • Pithomyces: Dropped by 6 (from 28 to 22, -21%).
  • Rust: Dropped by 8 (from 14 to 6, -57%).
  • Smuts/Myxomycete: Increased by 154 (from 552 to 706, +28%).
  • Spegazinia: Remained the same at 6.
