Houston Texas Pollen and Mold Counts (October 4, 2024, to October 8, 2024)

Pollen:

  • Houston Texas Tree Pollen: Dropped significantly from 24 to 6 (-18, -75%), with a major decline in Ulmus (Elm) and Other Tree.
  • Houston Texas Grass Pollen: Plummeted from 30 to 4 (-26, -87%).
  • Houston Texas Weed Pollen: Decreased from 665 to 548 (-117, -18%), primarily driven by declines in Ambrosia (Ragweed) and Artemisia (Sage).

Mold:

  • Total Mold: Decreased from 18,786 to 16,497 (-2,289, -12%), with significant reductions in Basidiomycetes, Cercospora, and Cladosporium, although Ascomycetes saw a slight increase.

Detailed Changes:

Tree Pollen:

  • Ulmus (Elm): Dropped by 16 (from 22 to 6).
  • Other Tree: Decreased by 2 (from 2 to 0).

Grass Pollen:

  • Decreased by 26 (from 30 to 4).

Weed Pollen:

  • Ambrosia (Ragweed): Decreased by 111 (from 645 to 534).
  • Artemisia (Sage): Decreased by 2 (from 8 to 6).

  • Drechslera/Helminthosporium: Decreased by 18 (from 64 to 46).
  • Epicoccum: Decreased by 12 (from 36 to 24).
  • Nigrospora: Decreased by 4 (from 34 to 30).
  • Oidium/Erysiphe (Powdery Mildew): Decreased by 2 (from 8 to 6).
  • Penicillium/Aspergillus: Increased by 28 (from 571 to 599).
  • Periconia: Increased slightly by 5 (from 159 to 164).
  • Pithomyces: Increased by 2 (from 20 to 22).
  • Rust: Increased by 4 (from 16 to 20).
  • Smuts/Myxomycete: Decreased by 253 (from 716 to 463).
