Houston Texas Pollen and Mold Counts (September 30, 2024, to October 1, 2024)

Pollen:

  • Houston Texas Tree Pollen: A sharp drop from 297 to 10 (-287, -97%), primarily due to the decrease in Ulmus (Elm).

  • Houston Texas Grass Pollen: Decreased from 36 to 14 (-22, -61%).

  • Houston Texas Weed Pollen: Decreased significantly from 783 to 402 (-381, -49%), with large declines in Ambrosia (Ragweed) and Chenopodiaceae/Amaranthaceae (Amaranth).

Mold:

  • Total Mold: Slight decrease from 23,044 to 22,649 (-395, -2%), with increases in Cladosporium, Curvularia, and Penicillium/Aspergillus but declines in several other mold species.

Detailed Changes:

Tree Pollen:

  • Ulmus (Elm): Decreased by 287 (from 297 to 10).

  • All other tree species remained at 0.

Grass Pollen:

  • Decreased by 22 (from 36 to 14).

Weed Pollen:

  • Ambrosia (Ragweed): Decreased by 333 (from 729 to 396).

  • Chenopodiaceae/Amaranthaceae (Amaranth): Decreased by 24 (from 24 to 0).

  • Cladosporium: Increased to 15,835 (from 13,249).

  • Curvularia: Increased to 257 (from 218).

  • Drechslera/Helminthosporium: Increased to 85 (from 60).

  • Epicoccum: Decreased to 36 (from 127).

  • Nigrospora: Decreased to 14 (from 145).

  • Oidium/Erysiphe (Powdery Mildew): Decreased to 6 (from 18).

  • Penicillium/Aspergillus: Increased to 615 (from 291).

  • Periconia: Decreased to 12 (from 18).

  • Pithomyces: Decreased to 22 (from 85).

  • Rust: Decreased to 8 (from 42).

  • Smuts/Myxomycete: Increased to 603 (from 194).

  • Spegazinia: Increased to 4 (from 2).

  • Stemphyllium: Decreased to 8 (from 12).

  • Tetraploa: Appeared with a count of 6.

  • Torula: Appeared with a count of 18.

Summary:
